Energy Storage Systems: ETG.UA Launches Its Own Production in Ukraine

ceo

CEO of ETG.UA, Volodymyr Shvedkyi, participated in the panel discussion "The European Vector of Ukrainian Business: Adapting to Climate Standards", which took place as part of the launch of the new cohort of the UN Global Compact Climate Accelerator in Ukraine.

During the discussion, the focus was not on general trends, but on the specific challenges Ukrainian businesses face in the context of the war. For many companies, the issue today is less about implementing ESG strategies and more about securing basic conditions for continuing operations. At the same time, those who had already integrated sustainability principles continue to follow them even during this crisis period.

ETG.UA joined the UN Global Compact in 2023. Today, the company is moving from declarations to practical steps, including the launch of energy storage systems production in Ukraine.

  • Why does it matter?
  • Energy storage systems are not just a backup for emergencies. They are the infrastructural foundation for scaling renewable generation.
  • With the decreasing cost of storage technologies, they stimulate the development of renewable energy, particularly in the "Storage + Solar/Wind" format.
  • These systems enhance the stability of energy grids, reduce the carbon footprint, and are increasingly competing with traditional forms of generation.

"Over the past year, more gas piston units have been installed in Ukraine than in the previous decade. This is a forced decision in times of war. But when Ukraine becomes a part of the EU, 1 GW of such plants may become a challenge to fulfil its climate commitments," commented Volodymyr Shvedkyi.

Key actions by ETG.UA:

  • Signed the Climate Responsibility Declaration;
  • Installed over 1,000 storage units in the last two quarters;
  • Launched mass production of energy storage systems in Ukraine.

ETG.UA is convinced that transformation should start with large businesses, creating opportunities for medium-sized companies to join the change. ESG is not about trends. It’s about responsibility for the environment, people's health, and the country's future.
